We want everyone to have the best bowling experience available when they visit our Bournemouth Branksome centre. That’s why we’ve answered many of our frequently asked questions below to help you plan the perfect trip.
Do you have disabled access?1
Yes, our centre is on the ground floor, and has been fitted with slopes to ensure disabled access.
Is there free parking available?1
Yes, there is free parking available outside our centre.
Do you have concession rates?1
Yes, we offer a concession rate of around 50% for disabled guests and their carers, as well as seniors.
This rate is available every weekday before 6pm, for 48 weeks out of 52, including the summer and Easter holidays.

How long does a game of bowling take?1
We allow 10 minutes per person, per game. Therefore, 1 game for 2 guests is allocated a 20 minute time slot.
2 games for 2 guests would be allocated a 40 minute time slot, etc.
Do I have to pay to watch someone else bowl?1
No. If you want to watch someone bowl without playing then there is no charge for this.
Do you have free wifi?1
Yes, you can access free wifi in our centre using the cloud.
Is there a cashpoint nearby?1
Yes, we have a cash machine within our centre for guests to use.
Do you have a change machine for the amusements?1

Does your bar show sports?1
Is there disabled parking available?1
Yes, there is disabled parking available.
Do you have air conditioning?1
Do I have to wear a face covering when I visit a Bowling Alley?1
Yes, following Government guidelines we are asking customers to please wear a mask whilst ten pin bowling at Hollywood Bowl. There is a legal requirement within the guidance, as per 21st August 2020. Anyone with a disability, breathing difficulties and children under 11 are exempt.
Masks may be removed when eating.
Can I Turn Up & Bowl, or Do I Need to Pre-Book?1
As part of our Government approved, COVID secure safety measures we have installed full height dividers between the lane seating areas, which will ensure that your group remains in a 'social bubble'.
At peak times we are only accepting pre-booked customers and are advising you to pre-book your ten pin bowling on our website.
Pre-booking your bowl with a maximum of 6 in a group, ensures that whilst we have a limited capacity you can manage effectively to social distance whilst bowling in our centre.
Can I Get Food Whilst Bowling?1
Yes, of course you can still get food and drink whilst at Hollywood Bowl. Drinks can be ordered from the from the bar whilst bowling. Food can be ordered from the bar or Diner to eat away from the lanes, after the game.
We recommend that you pre-order food and drink when you pre-book you game if possible. If you do wish to order at the centre contactless payment is preferred. There is a slightly reduced food menu, and our menus are cleaned regularly. Cutlery and sauces will be brought with your food.
Are the Bowling Balls Cleaned on a Regular Basis?1
Bowling Balls are cleaned between each game, as part of the enhanced cleaning regime in place at Hollywood Bowl which see’s each lane cleaned after each customer use. Additionally, we are limiting the number of balls in use on lanes, which means you will know which bowling ball is your own.
We know that safety is a primary concern for all of our bowlers and visitors at Hollywood Bowl. We have undertaken a coronavirus risk assessment and as part of this implemented a rigorous & enhanced cleaning regime across our centres.
Here at Hollywood Bowl we are also able to offer disposable gloves for ten pin bowling. These are available upon request from reception in adult and children’s sizes, should any customers feel more comfortable and safer using these during their visit.
Are Hollywood Bowl “Card Only” or Can I Pay by Cash?1
As part of our covid safe guidelines, contactless payments are preferred, and our ten pin bowling centres are still accepting chip and pin and cash payments.
Where Can I Find Out More Information About Covid Secure Bowling?1
We’ve worked hard to ensure that your day out will be covid secure. Our teams have daily temperature checks and will all be wearing PPE throughout your visit, we have an enhanced cleaning regime ensuring that your bowling balls are clean, we are providing hand sanitisers throughout all of our centres and we are asking that you wear your own shoes (as always) whilst bowling. How Many People Can Bowl and Socially Distance?1
Following guidance, we are allowing maximum bookings of 6 people per lane.
This is a reduction of our usual 8 maximum.
We ask that whilst this may be frustrating, that you do not organise to meet with others during this period. To help with social distancing we have installed full height dividers between the lane seating areas - this will ensure that your group remains in a ‘social bubble’.
