We want everyone to have the best bowling experience available when they visit our York centre. That’s why we’ve answered many of our frequently asked questions below to help you plan the perfect trip. 

  • In all our centres there is no limit on the number of people who can bowl together in a group.

    We have installed full height dividers between the lane seating areas. The maximum capacity we allow on each lane is 8 players.

    For mini golf, currently you can only book for 6 people. A maximum of 60 people are allowed on each course at one time.

  • Yes, of course, you can get food and drink whilst at Hollywood Bowl. Food and drinks can be ordered using the QR code on tables and menus, at selected centres, or from the bar and diner.

    We recommend that you pre-order food and drink when booking your game. If you do wish to order and pay in centre, contactless payments are preferred.

     

  • Yes, our centre is on the ground floor and has full disabled access. There is lift acess to our second floor with mini golf and arcade machines.

  • Yes, there is free parking available outside our centre, with a 4 hour maximum stay.

  • Yes, we offer a concession rate of around 50% for disabled guests and their carers, as well as seniors.
    This rate is available every weekday before 6pm, for 48 weeks out of 52, including the summer and Easter holidays.

  • We allow 10 minutes per person, per game. Therefore, 1 game for 2 guests is allocated a 20 minute time slot.
    2 games for 2 guests would be allocated a 40 minute time slot, etc.

    A game of mini golf takes approximately 10 minutes per person for one course. So if six people were playing on one course together, it would typically last about an hour. The more courses you play, the longer the game will last.

  • We provide putters & balls, so all you need to bring is your 'A' game!

  • No. If you want to watch someone bowl or putt without playing then there is no charge for this.

  • Yes, there is free wifi in our centre.

  • Yes, we have an ATM in our amusements area.

  • There is no set dress code, other than that we ask our guests to remove any hoods and caps so that we can see their smiling faces! Obviously, we ask that you behave appropriately and considerately at all times, which covers wearing appropriate clothing for a family centre.

    For bowling lanes, we prefer everyone (adults and children) to bowl in their own shoes at our centres, as long as they are a flat soled, closed toe shoes.

  • Yes, we have vouchers available for either £10 or £20 that can be used for bowling or mini golf. These can be bought from your local centre directly, or you can call our contact centre on 0844 826 1457^. Alternatively, if you’re interested in gift vouchers as part of employee rewards, please email [email protected] for more details or submit your enquiry to us via our contact page.

    ^Calls cost 7p per minute, plus your telephone company’s network access charge.

  • Directions

    Car: After coming off the A64, we are located off the A1036 Malton Road to York. If you are following the A1237 outer ring road, follow the Monks Cross Link road.

    Bus: Silver Line service 9 runs between 7.00am and 8.00pm every 10 minutes, and every 20 minutes after, up until 9.40pm.

    Train: York centre is the closest train station, and is just a short bus ride on the Number 9 Silver Line service.
